Perhaps only horse riding allows to feel the happiness
of flying without taking off the ground.

CENTAUR OFFERS A RANGE OF SERVICES such as hippotherapy, horseback riding for leisure, equestrian sports (professional riding), horse care, dog care, horse shoeing, etc for its clientele – both children and adults. Our specialists are not only experienced but also endlessly devoted to their job.

Hippotherapy
An alternative therapy for recovery and rehabilitation of the mentally and physically disabled children and adults.

Horseback riding for leisure
An effective healing of “mega polis syndrome” through the intercourse with Mother Nature and its inhabitants. It helps to struggle or avert the wide-spread problems of urban life including depression, stress, neurosis, insomnia, mental discomfort, etc.

Equestrian sports (professional riding)
It offers riding lessons including trotting, galloping and fence jumping with our professional instructors. Those interested can also learn to clean, bridle and saddle horses; as well as obtain thorough knowledge on their care and habits. Wearing a helmet is a must while riding. Helmets are provided.

Horse tours
We offer horse tours to the picturesque spots in the Aragatsotn Marz, including the ancient village Persi placed over a beautiful gorge, Byurakan observatory, Mount Ara and the monastery Tsakhkevanq with its healing water at the mount’s bottom; Amberd fortress, Saghmosavanq Monastery, Saint Sargis monastery where remains of the Armenian saint are buried. Some spots require experienced riding skills, some do not. Before the tour, the riders are instructed on the details. The short tours last around 3 hours and the long ones – 2 days.

Summer camp
In our summer camp children and teenagers enjoy their time with horses, dogs and Nature. They learn right communication with horse, help in taking care and feeding horses and dogs; learn horse riding; participate in educational-entertaining seminars about horse, horse-riding and hippotherapy. Here we ensure communication of handicapped children with their non-handicapped peers which still remains a big gap in the Armenian society. Together they make their daily meal of totally organic products grown and made in the village of Ushi; ride in the riding arena and outside, in fields; take walking tours to the picturesque spots around the village; in the evening around the fire enjoy our trainers’ stories from their professional fence jumping sports life, learn touchy and funny stories about world famous horses, exchange their own stories, sing and play guitar, create and participate in various games. At night children sleep in tents. In the future we plan to have trailer-houses instead.

Caring for private horses
If you dream of having your own horse but have no place to keep it in, we will help you. You can keep your horse in our stable. We can feed it, train and have it graze in the nearby pastures. If you have a place for the horse but need a good trainer or a farrier, this service is also within our competence. Services fee is negotiable and will depend on what exactly you want.

Caring for private dogs
You travel and need a contemporary shelter for your dog? You can leave your pet with us. We will provide your dog with a spacious open-air cage, “homemade” food (or the dry feed you prefer to give to your pet), walking out in the fields, and training, if necessary.

Nailing your horse/horses
Correct nailing is very important for the health of your horse. Our blacksmith is considered to be one of the best in the county.

Note: You can make use of the above mentioned services by becoming a member of Centaur. Your membership fee is used to cover expenses related to hippoherapy needs, such as fodder and care of horses and dogs, maintenance and development of the venue.

CONDITIONS

We have a bamboo arbor and a small trailer in which our clients can change their clothes, have a rest with a cup of thyme, mint, rosehip tea, coffee or seasonal fruits. Children, who are in no mood to ride a horse or are waiting for their turn to ride, can enjoy themselves by playing in the playground with “happy wings”.

RULES TO OBSERVE

Wearing a helmet is a must;
Climb on and off the horse on the horse’s left side;
Do not walk behind the horse at a close distance to avoid being kicked;
Do not make abrupt movements or loud noises while being close to horses;
Do keep a distance of 2-3 meters from the horse in front, behind and next to you;
Do meet the rider moving towards you with your left shoulder;

BASIC THINGS TO KNOW

If you are willing to feed horses on your visit, please go for apple, carrot, cabbage, pumpkin or sugar, etc. We do not mind, if you treat delicacies to your favorites. But please do not feed horses when no one from the staff is around. Horses should be fed from an open palm, fingers stretched and the hand kept slightly below the bar of the cage. Our dogs are also friendly and sociable. Feel free to play with them, but please do not disturb them when they are busy eating, and make sure you do not step on their tails. It is pretty painful and the dog’s reaction may be quite unexpected.
